Sunshine welcomes large Fuji crowd

The famously passionate Japanese spectators descended upon Fuji Speedway this morning to secure their places in the beautiful terraces and grandstands in readiness for today’s 6 Hours of Fuji.

As the sun emerged and framed the glorious and imposing Mount Fuji the scene was beginning to set for the seventh round of the 2016 FIA World Endurance Championship.

The crowds were forming the famous ‘Fuji Snake’ along the paddock as they queued patiently for the popular WEC Pit Walk where they had a chance to meet their heroes and see the different categories of state-of-the-art and  innovative machinery on display.

The individual fan banners ran along the length of the pit straight as the locals displayed their allegiances. With the weather looking set fair and consistent the drivers were concentrating on the battle ahead, one in which the bedrock for title challenges are likely to be built before the final two decisive  rounds of the season next month.

With Audi, Porsche and Toyota too close to even attempt predicting the race, the fans are in for a spectacular treat this afternoon.

Let the battles commence!
