BMW announces drivers for WEC

The newest manufacturer in the FIA World Endurance Championship, BMW, has announced its drivers to challenge for the GT World Championship titles in 2018-19.


Martin Tomczyk, Nick Catsburg, Antonio Felix da Costa and Augusto Farfus will drive the two BMW M8 GTEs which will be run by BMW Team MTEK in the WEC.

It has also been announced that they will be joined for the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the 1500 Miles of Sebring and possibly other races during the season by Tom Blomqvist, Alexander Sims and Philipp Eng.

All four regular drivers will be making their debut in the WEC, coming from other BMW programmes across the globe, although Farfus has competed at the 24 Hours of Le Mans before in 2010 and 2011. 

The BMW M8 GTE will make its WEC debut at the Total 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps on 5th May 2018.
