Will Owen confirmed to drive for United Autosports in 2022
British-based LMP2 team United Autosports has confirmed that American driver Will Owen will return to the team for the 2022 FIA WEC season.
Owen first joined United Autosports in 2017 as the squad made its LMP2 debut in the European Le Mans Series. That year, the 26-year-old from Colorado finished second in the championship after scoring two wins and three podiums, as well as finishing fourth at Le Mans. He then took part in the next three ELMS seasons, before taking a break in 2020.
In 2022, Owen returns to United Autosports for his first full season in the WEC driving the Oreca 07 Gibson alongside Phil Hanson and Filipe Albuquerque.

Owen commented: “I am overjoyed to be returning to racing and to be back with United Autosports. The opportunity to race in the full WEC season with Filipe and Phil is a special opportunity, and I am so grateful that it has come to fruition. It also gives me a lot of confidence that I will be driving with two very experienced teammates, and a team that has continued to grow and achieve great results.”
Season 10 of the WEC will start with Sebring in March, before visiting Spa, Le Mans, Monza, Fuji and Bahrain.
