A busy week for OAK Racing

After a weekend of mixed fortunes (see article) at the 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps, the second round of the FIA World Endurance World Championship, the OAK Racing team had two testing sessions in preparation for the 24 Hours Le Mans where three cars are entered.

The French team remained at Spa-Francorchamps for a day of testing on Monday, the 7th of May, which saw the #15 car that was so unlucky in the race running like clockwork. The OAK Racing team then headed to Magny-Cours for night practice to prepare drivers for the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

These tests provided an opportunity for Maxime Martin, absent in the Belgian Ardennes due to a clashing ADAC GT Masters race at Zandvoort, to accumulate some miles behind the wheel of car #35 that he will share in the Sarthe with its Bas Leinders and fellow Danes David Heinemeier-Hansson, author of a fine fourth place in LMP2 last weekend for their first appearance.

Moreau, driver of the unfortunate OAK Pescarolo-Judd #15, talks about the testing on Monday: "After a difficult race for us, the day of testing at Spa on Monday was really good! We had staked everything on a rain set-up for the race, unfortunately in vain, that we had to run in the dry with a car set up for rain conditions."

"I'm pretty happy with this test day which allowed us to put ourselves on a better basis and to test various things: tyres, shocks, aero ... In short, a good day's work for the team and also for my team-mate Bertrand (Baguette) which acquires us more and more experience in endurance. I think that this day has allowed us to better position ourselves before Le Mans. We have not had any reliability concerns, which is positive, and we have been able to analyze our broken suspension at 90%. The goal now is Le Mans! "
