Jeroen Bleekemolen "...a well balanced Championship"

Jeroen Bleekemolen is competing in the FIA World Endurance Championship in the Lola B12/60 Coupe - Toyota #13 of Rebellion Racing (LMP1). The Dutch driver, who is no stranger to La Sarthe, believes in his chances at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the 3rd round of the Championship.

"I feel it is great that, finally, there is an official world championship again and Le Mans is an important part of it.  Le Mans is the big one, it's great you get double points for it and I'm very happy it is part of the 2012 FIA WEC.  The team is very strong, the car seems to work very well at the test and I think we have a good chance to have a repeat of the 1-2 at Spa. However the race is very long so you never know what is going to happen but we definitely have a strong package.

"I think having six 6-hour races, one 12-hour and one 24 is the right mix.  The long races are always very special, where the 6-hours are more sprint races and a lot of fun to do.  So I think it is a really nice mix, maybe it would be nice to have a few longer races, but then the costs would go up, so this is probably the right balance for the races.

"The fans are great.  Every year you arrive and it is only Monday but it's already full with people taking pictures of you and asking for autographs. It's fantastic and I've done a lot of racing all over the world but for me Le Mans is the most special event."
