Winner of Brazil’s famous Mil Milhas race in 2007, the fast, versatile and popular driver Nicolas Minassian has made a welcome return to the FIA World Endurance Championship.

After his appearance at Silverstone with Jota Sport, the English-based Frenchman has returned to the LMP2 class for the 6 Hours of São Paulo.  For the final four rounds of the WEC season he will be replacing Soheil Ayari at the wheel of the No.49 Pecom Racing Oreca-Nissan, alongside Luis Perez Companc and Pierre Kaffer.  Welcome back Nico!

A superstar in his home country of Italy, current LMGTE Pro points leader Giancarlo Fisichella (with team mate Gianmaria Bruni in the No.51 AF Corse Ferrari 458 Italia) is a man of hidden talents.

Earlier this year the Scuderia Ferrari F1 development driver followed in the fancy footsteps of Brazil’s Helio Castroneves, who won the USA’s ‘Dancing WithThe Stars’ celebrity dance contest on TV. Fisichella recently took part in Italy’s equivalent, ‘Ballando Con Le Stelle’, for a one-off, one-evening-only show.  A bashful Giancarlo said of the experience, “It was fun but I needed some more hours of practice – there wasn’t enough time!”

The Italian is much more at home in a racing car and particularly at Interlagos, the scene of his first Grand Prix victory for Jordan in a race cut short by heavy rain.

It has been announced that Mexican driver Adrian Fernandez will take no further part in the FIA World Endurance Championship.

The Aston Martin Racing LMGTE Pro driver, who helped team mates Darren Turner and Stefan Mücke towards a podium finish at the 12 Hours of Sebring and 24 Hours of Le Mans in the No.97 Aston Martin Vantage, is directing his focus on competing in North America with his long-time American sponsor.
