Sebring 2H Report: Toyota run 1-2 in Hypercar

United Autosports head the LMP2 teams after a fierce fight on track, while the all-female Iron Dames crew leads the LMGTE Am category in the Porsche 911 RSR 19.

Below are the main headlines from the first two hours of racing:

Hypercar: Leader – Sebastien Buemi 

• Toyota Gazoo Racing run 1-2 after two hours of racing as Sebastien Buemi in the No.8 Toyota GR010 Hybrid Hypercar leads the No.7 sister car started by Mike Conway 
• Polesitter Antonio Fuoco was leading until a safety car saw the Ferrari AF Corse team elect to pit for fuel top up. 
• Fuoco is then handed a drive-through penalty and slips out of contention at front of field. 
• No.5 Porsche Penske leads the Toyota chase as Laurens Vanthoor completes double stint at the wheel of the new Porsche 963 Hybrid Hypercar 
• Cadillac Racing’s Alex Lynn battles past the No.6 Porsche driven by Michael Christensen in tight battle for fourth place. 
• Lynn then harries Vanthoor forcefully just before the two-hour mark but the Belgian defends strongly. 
• Lynn then makes his way through at T2 with a bold manoeuvre but then immediately takes a drive-through penalty and drops back behind the Porsche 963s. 
• Ferrari AF Corse run sixth and seventh as Alessandro Pier Guidi drives the No.51 Ferrari 499P and Fuoco continues to catch up from penalty in the No.50 machine. 
• Fuoco then overtakes Pier Guidi in a seemingly orchestrated move just before the two-hour mark. 
• Glickenhaus runs ninth but loses small amount of time after briefly stopping on track just after safety car period with Ryan Briscoe aboard the 007 Hypercar 
• Floyd Vanwall positioned in eighth after a clean run in the opening hours with Tom Dillmann aboard the first of the non-Hybrid runners. 
• Peugeot TotalEnergies endure tough opening to the race as the No.93 Peugeot 9X8 sits in ninth position. 
• No.94 car stops on track in opening laps and pits with a suspected gearbox problem. Loic Duval pits and then returns to the track albeit after losing seven laps on the leaders. 

• Oliver Jarvis in the No.23 United Autosports Oreca-Gibson leads away at the start but the British team chooses to pit under the first safety car. 
• Jarvis then re-takes the lead before handing over to home driver Joshua Pierson 
• Teenager Pierson holds off the No.36 Alpine ELF Team car driven by Julien Canal. 
• But when Canal pits the No.48 Jota car driven by David Beckmann on his WEC debut holds second place 
• The No.31 Team WRT car is third after starter Sean Gelael hands over to teammate Ferdinand Habsburg  
• No. 28 Jota entry sits in fourth place as David Heinemeier Hansson takes over from start driver Pietro Fittipaldi 
• No.41 Team WRT car is fifth as Rui Andrade gets his first laps at the wheel after Robert Kubica makes progress up the order in opening hour of race. 

LMGTE Am: Leader – Sarah Bovy 

• Iron Dames lead the early laps at Sebring with polesitter Sarah Bovy in the No.85 Porsche 911 RSR 19 is chased by arch nemesis Ben Keating in the No.33 Corvette Racing entry. 
• Most of field pits under the early safety car but the D’Station Aston Martin driven by Tomonobu Fuji doesn’t and inherits the lead of the LMGTE Am class. 
• Bovy and Keating are soon back to the front and running in close proximity until Bovy pits for a second time under the second full course yellow giving the No.98 Northwest AMR Aston Martin the advantage as Paul Dalla Lana completes double stint. 
• At two hours though after latest pit-stops Sarah Bovy re-takes the lead as she continues mammoth opening stints 
• Second sits Ben Keating in the No.33 Corvette Racing entry 
• Just behind Keating is the No.77 Dempsey Proton driven by Mikkel Pedersen, while the D’Station Aston Martin with Satoshi Hoshinio driving is fifth. 
• The TF Sport Aston Martin runs promisingly in the top six but then suffers a right-front puncture after an off-track excursion in the hands of Michael Dinan  
• Luis Perez Companc in the No. Richard Mille AF Corse Ferrari 488 GTE Evo crashes heavily in opening laps when running third. The Argentinian flipped his Richard Mille Ferrari but emerged unhurt from the wreck.
