A maximum of six people from a team are authorised per car during scrutineering. Scrutineering concerns:

- The technical conformity of the cars.

- Checks on the homologation of the helmets and drivers’ clothing including the head restraint device homologated by the FIA (in the conditions defined by Appendix L to the International Sporting Code), and the safety equipment on the cars. For easier identification and for the unity of the crews, the drivers of one and the same car are obliged to wear identical overalls.

- Checking of the temperature inside the cockpit: If the temperature around the driver exceeds the value defined by the Technical Regulations, or if the sensor is disconnected, the car will be stopped until the problem is solved. A driver who shows serious signs of tiredness at the end of a stint can be examined by the Chief Medical Officer of the Event. If it is due to heat stress, the driver will not be allowed to participate again in the race.

- The Homologation Form for the cars, the technical passport for the refuelling system and the equipment declaration form. The equipment declaration form must be continually updated during the event as regards any possible replacements made.

The Scrutineers may check the eligibility of a car or of a competitor at any time during an Event, require a car to be dismantled by the competitor to verify the conditions of eligibility or conformity. They may also require a competitor to pay the expenses resulting from the exercise of the above powers and provide such sample or part as they deem necessary.
